At the 2019 Chatham Oktoberfest, I was thrilled to purchase my first pair of Slyk sunglasses. Sadly, in August, that pair sunk to the bottom of a lake in Maine. Much to my delight, I stumbled upon Slyk’s Black Friday BOGO deal and this time got not one but two fantastic pairs of Slyk shades. What I love is that they’re trendy and classic, look terrific, are polarized (some of the big brands charge extra for this, a must-have in this area!), and best of all, are LOCAL. It feels great knowing I’m supporting a local business, especially during a challenging time. I also adore the uplifting sayings etched into the temples (the part that goes over your ear). Beginning in January 2017, I became chronically ill after my nervous system was damaged by a prescribed medication.
